THE WHYTE
DIFFERENCE
For us, making bikes that ride and perform exceptionally so you can have your best ride, every ride, is only part of the story. Another is engineering them to continue to keep doing that flawlessly ride after ride, and year after year no matter how hard you push them or what conditions you ride through – good, bad, or atrocious. To do that, we pay as much attention to all the small details as we do to ensure they perform perfectly through every pump and pedal stroke. Everything from sweating the fine details of geometry and component selection to give you the perfect balance of performance and reliability, all the way through to phosphate-coated and marine-grease packed bearings, fully sealed cable ports and seat clamps, masses of mud clearances, and many more. The best British design, built to perform, engineered to last, award-winning handling and proven through the worst conditions. That’s the Whyte difference.
THE RANGE
“By tilting up the motor, we’ve been able to slide the battery towards the bottom bracket and down towards the ground. This lowers the bike’s centre of gravity as much as possible, reduces the effect of the weight, and makes the bike more agile and a lot more fun to ride.”
- Sam Shucksmith, Senior Design Engineer
“It’s a pretty strong frame – you can hang about a tonne off the end of the fork and it will just sit there – which is important as e-bikes are obviously heavier, and the acceleration forces you can get with that mass really ramps up the forces you can get on a bike. They need to be strong. They take a beating.”
- Sam Shucksmith, Senior Design Engineer

ENGINEERED TO PERFORM
No matter how rough or rowdy the trail gets, the E-180 has been engineered to excel. It’s lowered centre of gravity concept optimises the distribution of battery and motor mass within the E-180’s chassis so you can experience an uncompromising trail connection, exceptional cornering agility and a planted feel on any trail, while MX wheels (29er front, 27.5in rear) give you even more confidence with plenty of clearance out back for when things get steep and technical. Whyte engineer and current and two-time British Enduro Series Champion, Sam Shucksmith, has also channelled his 15 years of racing experience to meticulously tune the E-180’s suspension to deliver you the highest level of support, grip, confidence, and control possible right from your first ride.

MORE RANGE, MORE RUNS
For the new E-180 we’ve increased the battery capacity to 750Wh so you can ride further, get more runs in, and squeeze even more fun out of every ride. We’ve also co-developed the E-180’s ‘Axial Rail’ battery system with Bosch to make removing and replacing the 750Wh battery a cinch for off the bike charging or swapping batteries. The system can also take smaller 625Wh and 500Wh battery sizes to give you the most choice for tailoring the bike how you want.

TOTAL CONFIDENCE & CONTROL
We've combined our unique ‘Total Geometry’ system – which ensures every dimension of the E-180’s form, fit and handling are carefully considered for how they affect the ride of the bike – together with our low centre of gravity concept to deliver the most capable, confidence-inspiring, and agile self-shuttle e-bike we’ve ever made. Want even more? Switch the Shape. It Link ‘flip-chip’ from its high to low position to slacken the bike out by 0.6 degrees and lower the bottom bracket (BB) by 8mm to turn up the E-180’s cornering and gravity performance even higher.

WE DESIGN BIKES
DIFFERENTLY
We design the entire bike, folding the sum of its every part into the whole; we call this holistic approach our ‘Total Geometry’ concept as confidence isn’t as simple as a slack head angle or even as straightforward as a low bottom bracket. No one single angle or geometry measurement in isolation, or in partnership with a few others, is a magic bullet for exceptional handling.
Bikes ride brilliantly when everything is combined to work perfectly in unison. And not just the measurements and angles of how all the tubes that make up the frame are put together – but also how all the components, too. The forks, the wheels, the bars, stem, cranks, and more. They all add up as everything affects the ride. And when you change one thing in isolation, it has a knock-on that affects how all the others interact, too. Getting them to work together in pitch-perfect harmony is no easy task. But then again we’ve never done easy. Easy isn’t exceptional. So we’ve spent more than 20 years refining our approach to them all to give you the best, most confident and capable ride possible.
